1. What is Summit University?

Summit University is the educational branch of The Summit Lighthouse, a spiritual organization based on the teachings of the ascended masters-the saints and adepts of East and West.

Summit University's curriculum takes the form of online study courses as well as national and international weekend seminars and retreats, usually providing one or more in-depth topical programs. Courses include topics like "Cosmic Law," "The Psychology of the Soul," and studies of the mystical essence of Buddhism, Hinduism and Christianity. Recent retreats include programs like: "Experience the Light Within," "The Way of the Christian Mystic," and "The Path of the Eastern Adept." Students not only immerse themselves in the subject matter but also find ample opportunity for experiential work through introspective and interactive exercises, meditations and prayer work.

2. What is Summit University Online?

The Summit University Online branch of this university started in 1999. It offers courses in the fall, winter and spring trimesters over the Internet through live interactive broadcasts. The course materials, originally taught at Summit University by Mark and Elizabeth Prophet, are adapted for online learning adding complementary teaching, lively on discussions, guided meditations and practical spiritual exercises. Students have online access to the course syllabus and handouts, and are able to interact with the instructors via email during the live audio broadcast and in scheduled on online discussion forums. All courses are archived and are accessible electronically. Students can also opt to take online courses via the replays as their schedule permits.

3. How do I register for an online Summit University Course?

You can register for an online Summit University course by going to the home page of this website and clicking on "Register for Current Course" located in the upper right hand corner. This will take you to The Summit Lighthouse online bookstore to purchase the course. Or, you may call Customer Service at 1-800-245-5445, between 9 am-12 noon and 1pm to 5pm (MST) to register and receive a "username and pass code" to access the course. Students may opt to listen to the weekly live online audio broadcasts or take the course at their convenience by listening to class replays. Each class is archived online the day after it is given. Class handouts are also available and posted online.

4. Who are the ascended masters?

The ascended masters are enlightened spiritual beings who once lived on earth, fulfilled their reason for being and have ascended, or reunited, with God. The ascended masters are the true teachers of mankind. They direct the spiritual evolution of all devotees of God and guide them back to their Source. They come from every era, culture and religion, and they are united in what is called the "Great White Brotherhood." The term "white" has nothing to do with race but instead refers to the tremendous white light surrounding their forms. Jesus referred to them as the saints "robed in white" in Revelation.

5. What are the benefits of taking courses on Summit University online?

If you are interested in a current Summit University Online course but your schedule doesn't permit you to take it during the time it is broadcasted over the Internet, you have the following option:

All Summit University online courses are recorded and posted online indefinitely at The Summit Lighthouse website at: www.tsl.org (click on Bookstore/SU Courses/ SU Online.) There you will find SU Online course listings. Students can select a course offering and just take one class at a time and then go back to take the next class as their time permits. Classes are left online indefinitely so there is no time limit by which participants have to complete a course. Students will need to have RealAudio to participate. 6. Do you have correspondence courses?

A Sacred Adventure is Summit University's first published independent study program for those interested in exploring and assimilating the teachings of the ascended masters in the privacy of their own homes.

A Sacred Adventure: Practical Path to Your Divine Reality is a seven-lesson course designed to help you study and apply the basic teachings of the ascended masters. These detailed lessons offer an in-depth look at your spiritual origin and destiny, as well as ways for you to more intimately connect with your Higher Self.
